Black Fashion Show 2008: Revamping The Black

The movers and shakers of the fashion industry do know how to spell style when they represent the different competitive factions of brands or embodying the new innovations of authentic designers especially when it is all about black.

Black is considered the most contemporary color where the glamour begins and the elegancy takes over. As per the black being the most powerful fashion statement and a symbol of high class this season’s black fashion shows again swept off the ramps with from black sleek and slender gowns and arguably thrilling mini dresses to black jackets and jeans. Different black fashion shows took place some celebrating autumn fall of the year 2008 and others marking the come-back of the black.

In London different black fashion shows were held the whole week marking it as the revival of black. The week was started of on Sunday 10th February 2008 by Sir Stuart Rose and Sarah Brown, introducing Harold Tillman, the new chairman of the British Fashion Council. The designers included Jean-Pierre Braganza with his collection ‘chromacolyte’ and Osman Yousefzada who seemed much inspired by a trip to Japan.

Second black fashion show followed the second day which strongly marked the come back of black with the first catwalk displaying the collection of the designer John Rocha. With slight touches of purple, red and pink the black accentuated new shapes and cuts of the sculpted jackets and short skirts.

Subsequently in afternoon another show took place of a new designer CORE Spirit. Yet again black was strongly present with touches and strokes of gold and white. Both female and men displayed the varnished jackets. Female collection represented short skirts and dress and also satin shirts.

The very next day of the black fashion show week Inbar Spector show revealed a remarkable and nearly alluring collection of black chiffon dresses and asymmetric jackets which not only exposed the intricate mastering of tailoring and the feminine elegancy blended with gothic inspired elements but also attested again that black was back.

Following the other days of the black fashion shows in London it was clearly evident that this fall black has verified its come back with true effectiveness.

Paris, the haven of designers and arts surely picked up the revival of black this year most enthusiastically as ever. Different black fashion shows were witnessed on the ramp where top-notched designers displayed their captivating glam of their creativity.

Nicolas Ghesquiere’s black fashion show three models blazed in onto the ramp in chic proficiently cut cocktail black dresses. At Yves Saint Laurent, the models wore dazzling bowl-cut wigs and glossy yet shiny black lipstick which were an addition to their black simply tiered jackets and a fresh graphical tunic dresses designed by an Italian designer Stefano

At Chanel, Lagerfeld experimented the classic tweed suit in an ankle-length version topped with Gallic beret. Other designers like Stella McCartney presented her black strapped mini dress and at Givenchy, Ricardo Tischi came up with his famous “Bettina” blouse as a frothy, jabot worn under a shiny black patent leather puffed jacket.

Hence, these black fashion shows 2008 evidently marked the strong come back of black. So why not wear your favorite black gown for the next cocktail party with the slight tinge of gold and white sprayed on it. Don’t forget to carry black modish accessories along with it.
