Yves Saint Laurent Fall 2009 Collection-Codes of Black Leather
Yves Saint Laurent codes of black leather, gray flannel, pristine white shirting. This was severe-chic; tough, down-to-earth luxury dressing. Black leather shaped wrap-coats, tailored dungarees, even strapless bodies, which appeared, also, as bustiers under the strict tailoring and as an alternative to the full-sleeved, white, cotton poplin blouses, worn with pencil skirts.
Their natural environment was the workplace and the boardroom where, perhaps, they would solve the world’s economic crisis, dressed in black leather, hi-tech, grey thermal modeling borrowed from the automotive industry, pewter cashmere and charcoal pinstripes. the designer imagined how it could be worn over a skirt, dress, leggings, or on its own over opaque tights and no ordinary tights close-up, some of them had a changeant green-black shine.
